Just got this book today and while I haven't cooked from it yet, it did make me quite hungry! A few of the recipes are almost offensively simple (cut tomatoes and sprinkle salt on them? Never would have thought of that) but the majority were interesting and inspiring. Looking through the book made me want to embrace healthier eating habits. The book mentions a number of unusual ingredients that I have never heard of, but will be looking for them so I can try them. For those who don't want to go on a wild goose chase for sea buckthorn, most of the recipes use easily attainable ingredients.
One thing to note is that this is simple, wholesome food - there's not too much spice and bold flavor to be found here. It is more about showcasing fresh, high quality ingredients. If you love foods like raw Tuscan kale salad (very similar to the recipe on 101 Cookbooks) you will probably like this book.
