I am a home cook living in the D.C. area. I collect cookbooks, they are my preferred bed time reading. Weeknights I cook for my half vegetarian family (the kids) and some weekends I experiment on my mostly carnivorous friends. My current passion is preserving, especially lactofermentation. This site has fueled my cookbook collecting passion; I had a lot to begin with but now I have them stacked, tucked, and teetering on every flat surface. It has also inspired me to actually cook from them not just dream.
