I am a mother of two school-aged children (my goodness! already!), and I teach freshman composition part-time (but you'll probably find some errors in my posts as I'm a rush-rush sort of writer). I have a husband who (with only a bit of grumbling) often cleans up my baking messes. He enjoys the products of my labour, and we sorted out that deal long ago.
I have been baking since I was a child, but really took off around 11 when my friends and I would concoct all sorts of inedible (and usually green-dyed) food in my kitchen (lovely, supportive parents). I do cook as well, but less enthusiastically (especially when it is weekday dinner after school/work).
I have a few recipes I always bake, but I am a sucker for the novel, so I'm constantly trying new recipes (even when I have a favorite of the same type). This drive for the next baking challenge/experience explains why my cookbook collection is always in need of a good edit. My husband has learned to not ask what is being delivered. It is often a cookbook.
I have a neglected blog that I love to have visitors on. I blog about food a lot on there (but not exclusively).
