- Quinoa-Vegetable PilafI love this simple, delicious pilaf. I made it two weeks in a row since trying it. :) Also, for not vegans, a little feta was a great addition. No likes Can’t Like Unlike Like No likes

I love the restaurant Candle Cafe in NYC. Everything I eat there makes me so happy. But this cookbook is very frustrating. Some recipes are great. Other recipes don't work.
Also, this kind of cookbook requires a lot of special ingredients that I didn't have on hand like agave nectar, kombu, hiziki, umeboshi vinegar, etc. Most recipes are a bit labor intensive as well.
- Cornmeal-crusted tempehSavory Vegetable PotpieGinger-Miso Stir-FryGreat recipe for a potpie filling. Awful, awful, awful recipe for an herbed crust!!!!No likes Can’t Like Unlike Like No likesI use this ginger-miso sauce for all my stir fries. It's mild enough for my kids and I get the ginger flavor I love. The sauce makes a lot so I usually make 1/4 of the recipe for one meal.No likes Can’t Like Unlike Like No likesSeitan Piccata with White Wine and Caper SauceVery distinctive taste, flavorful, different and good.No likes Can’t Like Unlike Like No likesPecan-crusted SeitanFrench Dip SandwichesVisually impressive, rich and tastes buttery for a vegan dish.No likes Can’t Like Unlike Like No likesSouthwestern-style Chile-rubbed Seitan SandwichesGrilled Seitan Steak HeroesBland. - Red Lentil Soup with LimeThis was so easy to make. It was delicious with chopped up fresh spinach (I didn't bother to cook it in the last step, I just added it to the soup before serving) over brown rice. A keeper. No likes Can’t Like Unlike Like No likes
