This woman is a bit of a genius, she take amazing pictures of food - for one. Secondly , she combines flours and flavours like a mad scientist and it comes out SO good! Her food is French inspired intermixed with the new wave neo-hippy healthy eating trend that has been gaining a lot of popularity lately. This is a book I am proud to cook from , never trite or over done , the recipes are very unique and sophisticated with an emphasis on healthy alternatives ,and they turn out perfectly . Love it! Can't wait to make more of her food.
Just wanted to add, if you are pondering about buying this book I would say you will not find recipes like this ,especially baked goods, in another cookbook. She really is quiet brilliant and inventive , the pictures are also stunning. but be prepared to buy a lot of millet, quinoa, rice etc., flours , she does not use all -purpose. Although you can probably make a traditioinal tart shell and add her filling and substitute all-purpose flour in the cakes and things. If you can't afford it , don't buy -if you can , why haven't you already !?
Urgh why deosn't Chrome spell checker work here?
This one is new on my wish list. Just the front pictures are teasers. I love France, the cuisine and healthy food, many good reasons to have a new book in the library ;-).
I don't need anymore cookbooks, but after looking at it in the bookstore the other day--just to see. I want it.
I agree with showgal. This is my "always go back to" book. Fresh, nuanced and well-researched recipes.
