I am fond of this cookbook which I bought on a trip to Vancouver. John Bishop autographed it with a cute drawing of bean seeds planted in a furrow. It is arranged seasonally, fresh and light = spring and early summer, abundant and satisfying =late summer and early fall, and hearty and comforting = late fall and winter. It is not vegetarian but pretty vegetable centric. I have made the roasted tomato soup, the sweet onion soup and the zucchini ragout. The recipes are very reasonable for the home kitchen and use readily accessible ingredients. He practices what he preaches with local sustainable food.
