I nerver thought one day I would buy A Gordon Ramsay's book! He don't inspire me too much But my sweetheart and I were interested about learning more about south Asia food and since he's a meat lover and Shoegal gave a good review I thought why not. The book wasn't expensive anyway. We haven't cook form it yet but I wnt through it and I have to say it's a nice book. But there is not much information about the food, the ingredient they use, the culture. And obviously a lot of meat! It will be a different cooking experience since I usually prefer to cook with local ingredients. Will write a quote after having cook a few recipe from it.
I think Gordon is a highly underrated cookbook author. Everyone nows he's a decorated chef but I think his poersonality may be a reason his books don't do as well as some of the other TV star chefs'. This book is absolutely stunning, gorgeous photographs and very well researched recipes that have been adapted to our palettes , although slightly. The book is full of SE Asian staples that are healthy and exotic.
