There is no doubt that my hands-down all-time favorite cookie is (almost) any Oatmeal version, with Toll House Chocolate Chip, second, just by a nose. Eating oatmeal cookies also lessens some of the fat and sugar guilt because there is basic nutrition that I build on. I have made my adapted versions of these cookies numerous times and again as recently as yesterday. I use whole wheat, oat and barley flours, always omit the "pumpkin pie" spices (just because), substitute lard for a portion of the butter, use any dried fruit except raisins, and any nut except peanuts or pecans. A wide range of choices makes each batch new and special. Yesterday's version is with dried cranberries and toasted macadamia nuts. Delicious!
